Thank you my teens

Today I turned 20! In the words of YUI:

I though I didn’t want to become an adult
But I am turning 20
Thank you my teens

Goodbye my teens….but still is 19 really any different than 20? Well who care? This will be the only day in my life where I can listen to Thank you my teens and have it actually apply! I must enjoy it =)

Besides that, I have to say I’m pretty sad that YUI went on a break, but the good news is that she’s going to be collaborating with stereopony! When I found out, I didn’t know who Stereopony was, but all the same I’m excited to see what kind of song YUI will compose for another group! Apparently they met unexpectedly in a recording studio in Okinawa and decided to it then (hm…no pun intended?). and of course I had to look up stereopony and let me say, I am pleasantly surprised.

YUI – MY SHORT STORIES

YUI’s first compilation album is strangely enough, all b-sides. For other artists, I might cringe at the idea, but it’s a different story for YUI. Some of her b-sides have climbed their way to the top of my favorite YUI tracks. But of course, that’s not the best thing about this album – that would have to be her new song. Which is very thoughtful considering the break she took (or is currently taking) after the release of the album.

[Jmovie] Taiyou no Uta

Taiyou no Uta
Starring
YUI as Amane Kaoru
Tsukamoto Takashi as Fujishiro Kouji
Toyama Airi as Misaki
Asagi Kuniko as Amane Yuki
Kishitani Goro as Amane Ken

Taiyou no Uta stars YUI as a 16-year-old teenager with a skin condition called Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP), which makes the body weak to UV rays, so going out in the sun is very harmful. So instead of sleeping at night and going out in the day time, she sleeps during the day and goes out at night. Every night, she goes out to the train station and plays her guitar and sings. She’s always careful to come back well before sunrise. From her window, she has a good view of the bus stop and every morning, she sees a guy (played by Tsukamoto Takashi) waiting there with his surfboard for his friends to come. By chance, one night while she’s playing, he walks past the train station. What follows is a sweet story of innocent love.
